• Brewing a cup of tea isn’t difficult, but brewing a delicious cup while preserving the essence of the tea is something not everyone can accomplish.
  • Here are 7 steps to begin your journey towards brewing a perfectly aromatic cup of tea. You’ll need: Tea leaves and a teapot to start.
  • Step 1 Boil water: Water is a crucial factor in determining the quality of a good tea brew. You should use filtered bottled water, not mineral water or tap water. Most types of tea are brewed at temperatures ranging from 75°C to 98°C, depending on the type.
  • Step 2 Preheat the teapot: When the water is close to boiling, pour it into the teapot and cover it. Once the teapot is warmed up, pour the water onto the tea leaves in the teacup.
  • Step 3 Measure the tea: The amount of tea needed depends on the type. Typically, it’s about 1/5 to 1/2 of the teapot.
  • Step 4 Wake up the tea: Next, pour the hot water over the tea leaves and pour it out as quickly as possible. This water will not be used for drinking. Note: The hot water to wake up the tea should not be boiling.
  • Step 5 Steep the tea: This is the most crucial step. Pour hot water into the teapot, cover it, and steep for about 10 – 40 seconds. Always pay attention to the water temperature and time, which should match the type of tea.
  • Step 6 Pour the tea: After 10 – 40 seconds, pour all the water out of the teapot into the tea tray. Then pour from the tea tray into the cups. The tea tray is essential at this point to stop the steeping process in the teapot. Pour quickly and pour all the water out of the teapot into the tray.
  • Step 7 Steep again: Repeat steps 5 and 6 for subsequent brews. The subsequent steeping usually takes longer than the previous one.
